This museum is the oldest cultural institution of the Częstochowa region. It has been collecting, developing and presenting collections in the fields of history of art, nature, ethnography and archeology for over a century. It also conducts exhibition, educational and publishing activities. Scientific and cultural meetings, publication promotions and intimate concerts take place here. The main seat of the Częstochowa Museum is located in the town hall, which after general renovation, was opened to visitors in May 2006. There is a permanent historical exhibition - "History of the City of Częstochowa Stage I". It illustrates the past of the city - from prehistory to the eighteenth century. Important figures of the local community are reminded in the "Cabinet of Prominent Częstochowa residents". In contrast, "Galeria Poddasze" presents interesting variable exhibitions.
