A knight's castle located on the Trail of the Eagles' Nests. It was built in the time of Casimir the Great around the mid-fourteenth century, although probably already there were wooden and earth buildings in this place. Initially, the stronghold with the stone watchtower was controlled by the nearby Bobolice Castle, with which it was part of the "Eagles' Nests" defense system. In 1442, Mirów estate was bought by Piotr of Bnin and initiated the expansion of the castle. It was continued by the next owners of the Myszkowski family of the Jastrzębiec coat of arms, who moved their family residence here, calling themselves "Margrave's Mirów". During their reign, the castle was raised and a residential tower was built. The castle was badly damaged during the "Swedish invasion" when a large part of the walls were destroyed. Despite the renovation works undertaken by the owners, it slowly fell into ruin and was finally abandoned in 1787. The stronghold became a source of stone building material for the local residents, which accelerated its havoc. Nowadays, the ship resembles a beautiful Jurassic stronghold, located on a small hill, devoid of trees, captivates with its picturesque. Around her spread the so-called Mirowskie rocks, varied with "carpets" of flowers, colorful shrubs and juniper clusters, making the area a magical place. In 2006, the Lasecki family - the current owners of Mirów Castle - began protective work aimed at saving this monument. Currently, it is not possible to visit the inside of the castle. Partial reconstruction of collapsed walls is planned. The tourist center and museum will be located in secured and adapted rooms. Access to the interior of the stronghold for visits is planned for 2017.
